Pushing Through The Pain
Life often presents us with challenges and obstacles that can be painful, both physically and emotionally. Whether it's a physical injury, a personal setback, or a professional failure, facing pain is an inevitable part of the human experience. However, it's how we respond to these challenges that defines our character and determines our path to success. We must learn how to explore the importance of pushing past our pain and how doing so can lead to personal growth, resilience, and triumph. You learn the most about yourself when you have to push through pain. In my 42 years of living, I've learned that not everything we go through in life will feel good or make us happy. However, everything we experience in life, will teach us and build us to become better people! Many people associate pain with defeat, loss, and failure, but the truth is sometimes pain can also look like growth, success and healing. In 2020, during the pandemic, my sister and I had a very successful school. We managed our home and business all while raising 8 of our nieces and nephews, and life was good. In a matter of months, our lives began to change and we literally lost it all. Not only did we lose our business, we lost our house and if that wasn't enough, we lost our mother due to Covid-19. We had to depend on others to pay our bills and feed us.
No one knew what we were going through because it wasn’t something we were proud of. As a matter of fact, we were embarrassed, angry, and ashamed. There is nothing quite like pain you experience after you've put in hard work building something that you dreamed about all of your life. Some people know the value of pushing yourself to the limits, and then losing it ALL (Especially when you have given your ALL and you have nothing to show for it.) In life we go through tough times and tough situations but that doesn’t mean that it's time to quit. Sometimes, God strips you of everything , to make you see Him again. I learned a long time ago that the best diamonds are made under pressure and when we move from under that pressure, the diamond cracks and then you have to go through the process all over again. That's what we learned during the process of losing everything! We are still in the process but God is teaching us to grow or fold , but Elaine, my mom, didn’t raise no punks! During this dark time we could have folded , but we knew God had a plan. Just like your trainer has a plan for you! In order for you to get to the other side of the pain, we have to go through the conditioning and preparation process.
Oftentimes, that’s God stripping you of being comfortable. YOU MUST GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY AND GIVE GOD THE WHEEL!
Fit2heal was birthed from my pain. God used fitness to help me heal, but God had bigger plans for F2H. I had no intentions on becoming a trainer or working at Effect. I loved teaching kids, but honestly after losing my mom, I lost the motivation and joy of teaching. God must have known because even though I felt like I was being stripped of everything, God was preparing me. I fell in love with fitness. This time it wasn’t about healing for me, but for others. This meant I had to die to self, be uncomfortable, be more giving, and be welcoming. Everything that was once a discomfort for me, God was using those things for me to heal others.
Here are 10 steps God gave me during my push season:
1. Acknowledge your pain
2. Embrace Resilience
3. Renew your mind
4. Seek Support
5. Release your past
6. Set Realistic Goals
7. Learn and adapt
8. Focus on the positive
9. Keep moving forward
10. Walk into your greatness
Pushing past your pain is a testament to your strength, resilience, and determination. It's a journey that may not always be easy, but it is always worth it. By acknowledging your pain, seeking support, setting goals, and maintaining a positive outlook, you can overcome challenges and achieve success in your personal and professional life. Remember, it's not about avoiding pain but about using it as a catalyst for growth and transformation. Embrace the journey, and you'll find yourself stronger and more resilient on the other side.
