Fight for the promise

Fight for the promise

If 2023 taught me anything, it taught me to fight for the promises. Ephesians 6:10-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

When I look back over the past year this is the scripture that resonates in my mind.
2022 ended crazy and 2023 started out really rough between the kids Christmas being stolen out of the house we were living in and having to find a place to stay in less than 10 days after that. I felt like everything we had worked hard for was fallen apart right before my eyes. Being the main provider for my family and trying to help raise my nieces and nephews, I had already put out more than I needed too, only for someone to come and take everything. During that time we also went through a family crisis that was stressful and overwhelming. This family crisis caused us to loose family relationships and jeopardized our business tremendously.

I had never been so pissed and ready to fight. I immediately went into hustle mode because I’m from the streets, and in the streets we hustled our way to success. I immediately told my sister we can sell this and we can hustle that. I kept saying I don’t need nobody because people talk. However, I heard God whisper, "STAND STILL!" With a heavy heart and lots of anger and  tears in my eyes, I remember calling my sister and telling her don’t worry, God got us. He will not let us fail!
I promise you in a matter of 72 hrs we were blessed with the funds to replace the kids Christmas. The following week we were in a new house; the house we've always dreamed about.

I want to remind you that we will go through things and yes we will have tough times but God will remain faithful. People may betray you, you may lose your job, you may feel like you're even loosing your mind at times,  but God promises to carry you through anything if we just stand and believe.
A lot of times in life we make moves prematurely because of our emotions or fear. Those decisions usually cost us something in the long run. Life is not like a video that has the ability to skip over the part we don’t like and only live through the good parts. We have to endure and fight through it. As the kids say, "we have to see it through my boy!"

As we face life’s battles, rest in God and rest in the promise that WE WIN!
