Self Examination
As Oprah Winfrey once said, “We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.” As we step into the second half of the year, I want to invite you all to join me on a 31-day journey called Fit2Heal. This journey isn’t just a challenge; it’s a chance to change our lives physically, mentally, and emotionally. All I ask is that you commit one day at a time, and I promise the results will be worth it. Here’s how we’re going to do it:
1. No Negative Words
This might sound simple, but it can be tough. Words have a lot of power. They shape our beliefs, drive our actions, and create our world. Negative words can hold us back and stop us from reaching our full potential. So, for the next 31 days, let’s choose our words carefully. Remember what our parents used to say: if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all. As James 1:19 says, “You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.”
2. Be Mindful of What We Consume
Our bodies and minds are affected by what we consume. Imagine eating everything you see or reacting to everything you hear – you’d feel terrible and it would show. Overeating and indulging in nonsense can make us sick. Let’s be careful about what we eat, listen to, and watch. When we stop consuming so much, we make room for better things, allowing us to be more creative and successful.
3. Forgive
This step is crucial. Holding onto grudges and negative feelings only weighs us down. Forgiveness is not about forgetting what happened but about freeing ourselves from the burden of anger and resentment. By forgiving others and ourselves, we can move forward and grow.
4. Give Yourself Permission to Heal
Healing takes time and it’s important to allow yourself that time. Be patient and kind to yourself. Understand that it’s okay to feel hurt and that healing is a process. Give yourself the space and permission to heal, and you’ll come out stronger on the other side.
Let’s make these 31 days count. I’m excited to see the positive changes we’ll experience together. Stay committed, stay positive, and let’s make this journey a life-changing one! We are F2H!
